The John Corbly farm was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in May 1984. The brick house, which still stands, was built about 1796 and is where Reverend Corbly lived with his third wife, Nancy Lynn Corbly.  Between his earlier residence and the Garards Fort Baptist church is where the Corbly Family massacre occurred in 1782.

Reverend Corbly applied for the initial warrant on this tract of land on January 15, 1785.  A survey was completed and filed on December 14, 1785 with the land patent granted March 25, 1788.  The tract was called Slave Gallant and encompassed 431 acres.  His tract was bounded by tracts patented to Stephen Davis, Justice Gerrard ,William Irwin, Robert Morrison , Peter Myers, and ThomasWright.
